These professionals install security measures designed to thwart cyber-attacks or network hacks. In addition, they create recovery plans as contingencies against attacks or data loss. Security Engineers also handle any technical problems that may arise during day-to-day operations. They can be found in various industries, averaging 40 hours per week. These professionals often work alongside information security analysts and network architects. Most Security Engineers have a degree in computer science, network engineering or a related field. As part of their duties, they also conduct penetration test to search for vulnerabilities that might be exploited.
