Program Managers are responsible for organizing and managing multiple projects within a company or organization. They provide strategic guidance for project teams, ensuring that each project is completed to fit with the companies' short-term and long-term goals. They may also be tasked with developing a budget, meeting with stakeholders, analyzing possible risk and coordinating the company’s marketing strategy.
Program Managers work in different industries, including manufacturing, commerce and marketing. Unlike project managers, they do not directly oversee projects. Most employers require that Program Managers have a degree in business administration or a related field, as well as several years of experience managing a team.
A leading financial center, New York is the largest regional economy in the U.S. The city’s financial district houses Wall Street and several exchanges, including NASDAQ and the New York Stock Exchange. New York also is home to over 50 Fortune 500 corporations, including CitiGroup, JPMorgan and Time Warner. New York’s economy includes thriving health care, insurance, real estate and media sectors.
Compared to other major cities, New York has a relatively low car ownership rate. For instance, over 60 percent of the households in Manhattan are car-free, while more than half the households in Brooklyn are without cars. Most New Yorkers prefer to commute to work and get around the city using the New York subway system, which is faster and more effective.
