A Solutions Architect interacts with a client in order to completely capture their needs and then will create a specific solution often with a recommendation of new technology. The Solutions Architect is the project team leader who is responsible for evaluating the process flow from the client, planning the solution and leading team meetings. Solutions Architects are expected to hold at least a Bachelor’s Degree in information technology or computer science and for more senior roles a certification in enterprise solutions. Most employers will also ask to see demonstrable skills in teamwork, computer proficiency, time management, creativity, communication and interpersonal skills and customer service skills.
