Mobile Engineers are software developers that focus on creating applications and games for mobile technology such as the Apple iOS, Google Android and Microsoft Windows Phone platforms. Because a Mobile Engineer may work on a variety of platforms, it is essential that he or she is familiar with the core languages of each of those platforms, namely Java, Objective-C and C#. A Mobile Engineer must also be able to modify existing ones to perform better as well as create thorough debugging and testing routines.

Typical other job duties will include staying up-to-date with technology and best practices for coding, working closely with other designers and assessing market expectations and client needs. Typically, at least an undergraduate degree in computer science is required for this position. However, equivalent job experience may be substituted at times.
