Data Engineers are mainly responsible for preparing sets of data for analytical or operational applications. Specific tasks may include integrating, consolidating and cleansing data and structuring data to be used in individual analytics applications.
Data Engineers must be proficient in programming languages such as Java, Ruby, Python, C#, SQL and Scala. Data Engineers must also be familiar with REST-oriented APIs and have a good understanding of transform and load tools.
