Site Reliability Engineers are responsible for ensuring that large-scale systems are created and maintained and that both internal and external systems are reliable with a minimal amount of downtime. In terms of education, Site Reliability Engineers need to have at least a four-year college degree in computer science or a related technical field that uses coding, such as physics or mathematics, because the position is very technical and detail oriented.
