London is made up of many smaller communities all tied into one large city. Highgate is located in the northwest part of the city. The old-fashioned Georgian architecture is surrounded by green space including Parkland Walk which is an old railway that has been converted into a nature reserve. Chelsea is a well-known neighborhood and one of the best shopping areas in London. There are plenty of choices between period townhouses and houseboat residencies along the river. Richmond is as rural as you can get with 2,500 acres of wild parkland including free-range deer and old oak trees. The center of the neighborhood has local pubs and shops making for a small community atmosphere.
