HTML Job Description

Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) is a computer language used to build websites. Professionals performing this type of work are referred to as HTML programmers or developers. HTML developers apply their skills to create functional and aesthetically pleasing websites to promote the goals and objectives of their customers. Developers utilizing the HTML language skillfully create text and images in such a way that the user can easily navigate the website. HTML professionals are often employed as webmasters to perform the regular maintenance needed to keep sites current. Often the security of designed websites falls to the HTML designer as well.

Necessary skills to perform this job include the ability to focus on web development and a structured programming language, tenacity, detail orientation, creativity, excellent spelling, grammar skills and the ability to organize complex thoughts and translate them into viable and informative web pages. Web developers often interact with the representatives of the organization for whom they are building a website. The ability to work with others and respond to the needs of the customer are important factors in HTML programming. Most websites are built with at least general guidelines provided by the customer. Many positions utilizing HTML skills require extensive knowledge to bridge the gap between various browsers while maintaining functionality. Entry into HTML jobs may or may not require a bachelor's degree or higher education, but will certainly require extensive knowledge of the HTML language.
