Job Description

The Worldwide Solutions Architecture team is looking for a Senior Program Manager to lead the efforts around measuring the impact and productivity of the Solutions Architect role globally. The primary activity of a Solutions Architect is to work in conjunction with a Sales Representative providing our customers with technical and architectural guidance. As AWS scales, it is important to measure the impact of the investment in Solutions Architects as well as to be able to measure the productivity of this critical resource. This Program Manager role will have significant business impact through your direct involvement in monthly and quarterly metrics, modeling, reporting and providing operations support around impact and productivity. Key areas of focus for this role include: building a 3-5 year headcount growth model, defining a model that connects this investment to impact and defining a strategy for measuring productivity globally.

We are looking for a candidate who will have the ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams and have a passion for inventing and simplifying. Less is more in this case, but we are building the foundation to assist the scale out of the Solutions Architecture function. This position requires strong business judgment, problem solving and excellent communication skills. A track record of delivering results in a fast paced, dynamic environment is a must. Being self-driven, adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities is a key to success.

Roles and Responsibilities

* Work closely with WW Operations Lead to drive and facilitate the strategic planning process around headcount growth.
* Own, define and manage how we measure the impact of a Solution Architect.
* Own, define and manage how we think about Solution Architect productivity and all associated metrics.
* Manage the tools and processes necessary for measuring productivity.
* Provide business insights and analytics that help define initiative and program that increase Solution Architect impact or productivity.
* Create a global virtual team of Solution Architects from around the world to prioritize areas of focus to enable higher impact and greater productivity.
