POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general direction of the Assistant Vice Chancellor, Information Systems, effectively provide expert guidance and lead the analysis, design, modification, installation and maintenance of enterprise and middleware portal software application programs, integrated cloud and disparate complex hybrid systems, software utilities or software solutions including complex databases to meet user and organizational information and processing needs. Perform related duties as assigned.

TYPE OF SUPERVISION:

Receive general direction from the Assistant Vice Chancellor, Information Systems.

* General Direction - indicates that the incumbent receives guidance in terms of broad goals and overall objectives and is responsible for establishing the methods to attain them. Generally the incumbent is in charge of an area of work, and typically formulates policy for this area but does not necessarily have final authority for approving policy.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Leads the design, development, modification, quality assurance and support of fully integrated systems, which may include software applications, interfaces between disparate computer programs or vendor supplied software cloud software as a service, applications and utilities, databases, and related systems.

* Provides expert guidance on analysis of user software application functional and reporting needs, determine and evaluate alternative solutions and develop approaches to meeting those needs.

* Ensures data privacy and security of all assigned systems. Leads the support of assigned systems to ensure minimal downtime and loss of productivity and service. Coordinates with business users and vendors on the latest releases and ensures all critical patches are applied as appropriate.

* Leverages Workday integration tools including Workday Cloud, Workday Studio, Cloud Connectors, Enterprise Interface Builder, Web Services and Rest APIs to develop and support integrations between workday and other information systems.

* Tracks, updates, and communicates the status of all tasks assigned to or initiated in area of responsibility in accordance with departmental procedures.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND/OR LICENSES:

* Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or related field.
* 5+ years experience with modern web technologies (XML, XSLT, HTML, Java, C#, SOAP, REST, Angular).
* 5+ years relational and document based database systems programming (preferably Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB), documentation and technical support experience in a production environment.
* Experience working with confidential information. Demonstrated strong object oriented programming, documentation, and technical support and requirements analysis skills.
* Integration experience in Workday including Workday Studio, Enterprise Interface Builder, Web Services, Rest APIs, and SFTP integrations is highly preferred.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

* Programming and development experience using: Java, J2EE, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, XML, XSLT, HTML, C#, SOAP, REST, Angular web development, PHP, SQL, PL/SQL is preferred
* Experience using versioning and other common development tool sets such as Bitbucket, GIT, etc.
* Knowledge of Workday, Salesforce and Regent Education is highly preferred.
* Demonstrated strong object oriented programming, documentation, and technical support and requirements analysis skills.
