Job Description Summary

The Workday HCM Configuration Team Lead role is responsible for managing a global team of WD HCM Configuration Analysts. This role is a point of contact for functionality/configuration questions and is responsible for configuration activities for new functionality and enhancements within the Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) product suite.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

* Management of a small team of global Workday Configuration Analysts, including Workday HCM-related work intake / prioritization, career development and mentoring
* Liaise with the business to understand their needs and usage of Workday. Obtain and document requirements for Workday Core HCM- for all setup values and Business Processes, including any Self-Service aspects
* Plan, design, and configure Workday compensation-related modules for all enhancements or break/fix
* Develop calculated fields, conditional routing and business processes that support the requirements outlined. Mitigate any opportunities of inaccurate data, business process routing, or impacts to other business areas
* Guide business stakeholders through Workday Release functionality review to determine what optional functionality we will 'turn on' with each release
* Support configuration updates for those Workday compensation modules impacted by releases and upgrades as needed during the program
* Liaise with Workday support re: requests for new compensation functionality & bug/defect fix support
* Lead/Participate in interactive discussions regarding requirements and possible methods of configuration within the Workday HCM Modules
* Understand and document impact of configuration changes to business processes and communicate to business stakeholders
* Support UAT activities by providing input to test cases recommended for configuration changes
* Conduct Root Cause Analysis to determine appropriate action plan for break/fix including impacted employees/users/data clean-up
* Utilizes business knowledge to identify areas of systems improvement opportunity and submits proposals for analysis that lead to recommendations of systems improvements
* Provides well thought out and actionable recommendations
* Serves as an escalation point to lower tier support
* Maintain change log and design documentation to reflect any changes made to business processes / design post implementation

Skills & Competencies

Technical

* Significant Workday HCM experience
* Workday Certified
* Advanced skills in Ms Excel (V look up and Pivot tables), SmartSheet and other data organization & reporting tools

Soft

* Excellent customer service skills including timely and well thought-out problem resolution
* Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with all levels of employees and management
* Ability to communicate effectively with both a technical audience and business users
* Excellent time management skills with ability to multi-task and prioritize

Qualifications / Experience / Education

* 4+ years of Workday configuration experience with a general understanding of all Workday Modules and a focus on Workday Core HCM and Recruiting preferred
* Prior Workday Functional certification
* Experience on Workday configuration role
* Experience in the development and implementation of process and systems changes.
* Broad Operational experience in HR, Project Management and HRIS a plus
* Experience managing a small team in a BAU or project setting
