Basic Qualifications

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a specialized area or equivalent is required.

Clearance Requirements:

At minimum, a current Department of Defense SECRET security clearance is REQUIRED at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) has an immediate opening for a Windows Systems Administrator and Help Desk Technician to join our team. The OCDETF Fusion Center program supports a multi-agency federal law enforcement and intelligence program crucial to the safety and security of our nation. As a member of our systems administration team, you will play a critical role in keeping our Windows systems secure and running, and you will work closely with end-users on site in Merrifield, VA, to provide desktop support.

Your primary responsibility will be first-tier technical support on multiple networks & systems, including support via phone, e-mail, and in-person at our customer facility. You will also participate in system administration of Windows desktops and servers-this position is ideal for someone with the drive to become a full-fledged Windows system administrator or looking to grow his or her Windows administration skills.

Securing our systems against external and internal threats remains a top priority for our nation's security, and you will work closely with our sysadmin team and ISSO to perform system hardening (including deployment of patches and group policies), virus & vulnerability scanning, and may be called upon to participate in agency data-calls and other coordination with government stakeholders to ensure the information security of our networks and systems.

The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to ensure General Dynamics Mission Systems and client technologies are functioning as efficiently as possible. Key ResponsibilitiesYou will provide information system solutions and technical support to General Dynamics Mission Systems and our clients. Your primary responsibility will be first-tier technical support on multiple networks & systems, including support via phone, e-mail, and in-person at our customer facility. Additional duties include system administration of Windows 7 and 10 desktop and server systems (performing backups, imaging & deploying new machines, application installation & maintenance, management and deployment of group policies & other Windows domain administration tasks, etc.).

Preferred Experience

* Experience with any of the following tools: Nessus, DataProtector, Foundstone, DBProtect, AppDetective, or Splunk
* Experience with Windows desktop and server administration, to include Active Directory administration
* Experience with one or more of the following technologies: Microsoft Operating Systems, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, VMWare, Oracle relational databases, PKI, Encryption, TCP/IP networks, Access control models, network and security monitoring tools, and Cross Domain Solutions
* Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
