THIS POSITION REQUIRES AN ACTIVE TOP SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE

Aquila is seeking a System Administrator possessing a Top-Secret Security Clearance to contribute to one of this country's premier defense research organizations. The Advanced Lasercom Systems and Operations Group develops, builds, and operates prototype space and airborne Lasercom terminals. As a Windows System Administrator, you will support both classified and unclassified development.

Responsibilities:

Perform various system administration duties in a multiple small mixed Windows/Linux environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Windows 10/Server 2016, be a self-starter, and act as the Windows Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the group. Qualified candidates must be eager to learn and grow in other areas such as Linux, storage administration, VMWare and networking. This position will provide both server and desktop level support to the group as well as various programs/projects. Must have highly effective verbal and written communication skills, proven experience working in a team environment, and the ability to complete assignments independently with minimal supervision.

Required Skills:

* An active Top Secret clearance
* Experience (3-5 years of experience) implementing and supporting Windows Server 2012/2016
* Experience implementing and supporting Windows/Linux in R&D Lab environment
* Experience implementing/managing McAfee ePO server
* Experience implementing/managing WSUS or similar patch management utility
* Demonstrated experience performing Windows 7 to 10 migrations
* Demonstrated troubleshooting of complex/distributed networks and systems
* Detailed knowledge of Windows security hardening principles and practices (STIG, RMF, etc)
* Experience providing system and hardware level support on Dell Server/Desktop technology
* Proven ability to learn and implement unfamiliar technologies
* Provide general user support
* Research into new technologies that can enhance productivity for us or our customers.
* Document IT procedures
* A current CompTIA Security+ or other 8570 DoD approved certification or the ability to obtain within 6 months

Preferred Skills:

* Experience troubleshooting/working with Linux systems (RHEL/CentOS/Fedora preferred)
* Experience troubleshooting/working with networking protocols
* Experience implementing/managing enterprise storage
* Experience supporting/implementing virtualization technologies
* Experience maintaining enterprise backup solutions
* Experience utilizing/implementing Dev Ops tool sets
* A Microsoft MCSA, MCSE or similar industry certification

Qualifications and Background:

* BS OR Associates degree and at least 1 Certification.
* At least 5 years of applicable experience.
