Website Specialist- Part Time

From our campus overlooking the New York City skyline to the river walks and green spaces of Hoboken, New Jersey, Stevens Institute of Technology has accelerated into the national spotlight as a leader in higher education with technology at its core.

The Division of Communications and Marketing at Stevens is seeking a part-time website specialist (20-25 hours per week) to help advance the digital presence of the university. This dynamic and creative web manager will be responsible for supporting the university's Drupal-based website.

The ideal candidate will have a background in content strategy and a strong understanding of Drupal and how it functions as a CMS. S/he should be able to advise internal clients on best methods to clearly and effectively present content on the website, establish and maintain consistent design standards across the website, adhere to editorial standards, research current and developing digital technologies, conduct competitor research, monitor website usage and develop website analytics reports.

Tasks and Responsibilities

* Participates fully in web-based projects that support university goals and initiatives

* Coordinates, develops and updates the content and design of the Stevens website to ensure it remains current, cohesive and visually appealing while focusing on increasing the website's online marketing presence, engaging multiple stakeholders and advancing university initiatives.

* Actively contributes to innovative strategies and provides creative ideas that continually improve web presence and user experience.

* Supports Drupal editors by helping to expand the effectiveness of the content management system and providing assistance with training efforts.

* Evaluates website placement on all major search engines and directories; adjusts web presences to increase placement, traffic and conversions.

* Remains current on website trends, web and social media platforms, and other related technology as it evolves.

* Related duties and initiatives as assigned.


Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in a related field.

* One year of directly related experience in a role that required the development of digital communications and/or marketing content, website imaging and familiarity with web development/design, HTML, and the use of a content management system (such as Drupal).

* Understanding of ADA compliance.

* Prior experience with or knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics.
