UW Medicine Strategic Marketing & Communications is looking for a passionate, skilled web professional to join our team to support our website, uwmedicine.org. The Web Producer reports to the UW Medicine Web Operations Manager. They will play a critical role in maintaining our service-level agreements through the UW Medicine web request queue, making website updates, and managing user permissions and workflow in our CMS.

The Web Producer is responsible for web page creation and content oversight. This role is an advocate for public website content and enforces content quality standards: creating and maintaining front-end content processes and documentation, building out web pages in the CMS, reviewing other web producers' changes in the CMS workflow to ensure they meet editorial and technical guidelines.

The Web Producer works closely with colleagues in Strategic Marketing and Communications, closely partnering with the Web Team to support the implementation of functionality, features, and the identification and resolution of content, UX, and CMS issues. Additionally, they will collaborate with people and teams both inside and outside Strategic Marketing & Communications to support website content updates. With direction from Strategic Marketing & Communications leadership, and in partnership with the Marketing team, the Web Producer:

* Services user requests and updates content across UW Medicine's highly-trafficked enterprise web properties;
* Works with the web team to create and enhance features on our websites to improve visitor satisfaction;
* Adheres to web standards and accessibility guidelines and employs tools for building world-class online experiences;
* Communicates with stakeholders on project requirements, activities, and statuses;
* Manages Drupal user permissions and workflow, web tool user accounts, permission levels, and rights management; and
* Shares in training new users on a variety of CMS platforms.

The Web Producer is detail oriented, able to understand the technical complexities of a content management system (CMS), while also championing the larger user experience.

This role requires broad knowledge of website and marketing technology and strong analytical skills.

To succeed in this role, the employee must be a collaborative, open communicator skilled at a process-oriented approach to providing a consistent and reliable user-centric web experience.

This position participates in the deployment, management, maintenance and ongoing operations of an enterprise content management system for UW Medicine. They will play a key role on the web team by providing technical expertise that supports UW Medicine's strategic efforts. Must be a critical thinker and creative problem solver who exercises good judgement in resolving difficult situations and can balance competing priorities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Website Queue and Email Management

Create, update, and publish Web content in content management system from final, web-ready content delivered by content owners.

Fulfill requests from the website update queue - troubleshooting, fixing, updating and auditing content and assuring data - to include monitoring all edit/change requests to ensure contributors adhere to brand guidelines and accessibility standards.

Identify content issues and work with content owners, as appropriate, to resolve them prior to publishing.

Facilitate reviews with content owners.

Help resolve content issues flagged in QA.

Web Operations/Administration

Collaborate with website development and design teams to develop and support campaigns and other website initiatives.

Help train CMS users on CMS best practices.

Provide strong internal and external client services, e.g., quality, responsiveness, supportive, proactivity, attention to detail.

Support QA Engineering activities as needed by participating in User Acceptance Testing for CMS enhancements.

Review content changes made by other producers in the CMS to ensure editorial and technical guidelines are met.

Content Governance

Participate in developing and communicating website governance policies and guidelines; work closely with the project managers and development team to streamline processes and procedures.

Review content changes made by other producers in the CMS to ensure editorial and technical guidelines are met.

Identify live site content issues and troubleshoot or escalate as needed.

Support content governance processes and initiatives such as roles/responsibilities and content audits.

Identify web content integration opportunities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent professional experience.

Minimum of two (2) years' experience using professional content management systems for information management and organization.

Experience advocating for content and user experience across technical and non-technical teams.

Understanding of taxonomy development and its relationship to search, SEO, and content strategy.

Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with some project management experience. Ability to keep track of multiple projects and create action plans to finish projects on time.

Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.

Ability to think strategically, act tactically, and thrive in evolving and/or ambiguous situations.

Ability to manage up and across an organization.

Knowledge of HTML5, CMS, and MS Office. CSS3, JavaScript knowledge a plus.

Knowledge of mobile first and responsive content strategies.

Experience working in digital marketing with an understanding of site personalization.

Prior experience in website administration - defining, planning and enforcing processes to administer content management. systems, including configuration, user permissions, and third-party integration.

Experience working with Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager or other web, digital advertising and social media analytic and metric software.

Previous experience with A/B testing tools, such as Acquia Lift, Google Experiments, Adobe Target and/or Optimizely.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Work is performed in an open office setting with noise and other distractions. The position may travel by foot or vehicle to various locations to gather information and/or assist with activities. Position maintains regular office hours Monday through Friday and occasional evening and weekend work to participate in meetings and special events.

Position is an Essential position and employee may be required to report to work when the University is under Suspended Operations due to inclement weather, with exceptions to this policy based on the circumstances requiring Suspended Operations and the discretion of senior leadership.
