Job Description

Data Center Global Services (DCGS) is looking for a Web Development Engineer to join a web and application development team focused on technical communication. Your ideas and the solutions you develop will support the AWS data center platform.

You will work closely with managers, engineers, and technicians to design and build web front-end solutions using our directed workflow application. You will be a subject matter expert in all aspects of web front-end development and ensure that best practices are followed. You will use your expertise to evaluate new tools, work-flows, and frameworks to improve the productivity, design, and reliability of our products. You may also participate in stand-alone projects or other development activities, including API design, back-end development, or mobile application development. Your responsibilities will include:

* Developing web front-end solutions using JavaScript (JS), CSS, and HTML
* Working with customers to develop solutions that deliver results
* Working closely with other developers, ensuring best practices are followed
* Designing user-friendly solutions to complex problems
* Explaining alternative solutions and trade-offs to managers and customers
* Helping in the Object Oriented Design (OOD) of tools and products
* Helping in the API design of tools and products
* Training others, including programmers and technical writers
* Designing an automated test system
* Designing meaningful metrics and reports
* Helping our team and our customers grow
* Traveling domestically and/or internationally up to 10% of the tim
