Responsibilities

The Aerospace Corporation is looking for a qualified Web Application Developer willing to learn how to develop applications for the ServiceNow platform. the selected candidate will participate on an agile Scrum team, developing and customizing applications and business processes for ServiceNow. Aerospace uses ServiceNow as its primary IT Service Management (ITSM) platform and ITIL v3 as its model for ITSM practices. ServiceNow is a Web-based SaaS application and platform that can be customized and extended through a combination of configuration changes and code, primarily JavaScript that calls ServiceNow APIs. Candidate will receive training and mentorship in ServiceNow development with the goal of becoming a fully-productive developer creating solutions to Aerospace business needs on the platform. Common efforts include developing new workflows and service catalog items, customizing ITSM processes, extending and refining the configuration management database (CMDB), implementing new ServiceNow modules, and integrating ServiceNow with other IT systems, primarily through RESTful interfaces.

Key Functions

* With provided training and mentorship, quickly adapt existing Web development skills to the ServiceNow platform and become a productive member of the ServiceNow development team
* Design and develop solutions on the ServiceNow platform, including creation and modification of applications, forms, workflow, interfaces and any other customization required to support ITSM/ITIL processes
* Assist in the implementation and enhancement/customization of ServiceNow modules and features (e.g., CMDB, Knowledge, Discovery, Orchestration) based on process owners' needs
* Develop and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and other information systems
* Actively participate as a developer in Aerospace's ServiceNow Scrum team and associated Scrum events (daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint demonstrations, and retrospectives)
* Work closely with Aerospace ServiceNow administrators to test developed capabilities and transition them from development to operations
* Communicate with managers, end users, and process owners frequently to establish requirements and guide development.

Qualifications

Required Solutions Developer II

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent field of study, or equivalent experience
* 3 or more years of relevant experience
* Demonstrated experience developing data-based Web applications
* Experience in relevant Web development languages and technologies (HTML, CSS, XML, REST and RESTful interfaces)
* Demonstrated experience in JavaScript required, as ServiceNow uses JavaScript extensively for both front-end and back-end scripting
* Experience with relational databases and using them as a back-end data store for Web applications
* The ability to obtain a Secret clearance. This is issued by the US government and a US citizenship is required

Preferred Solutions Developer II

* Experience in emerging ServiceNow Web technologies (Angular, Highcharts)
* Experience participating in agile (particularly Scrum) development teams
* Previous experience with ServiceNow development or administration
* Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
* Strong oral and written communication skills

Required Solutions Developer III

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent field of study, or equivalent experience
* 6 or more years of relevant experience
* Demonstrated experience developing data-based Web applications
* Experience in relevant Web development languages and technologies (HTML, CSS, XML, REST and RESTful interfaces)
* Demonstrated experience in JavaScript required, as ServiceNow uses JavaScript extensively for both front-end and back-end scripting
* Experience with relational databases and using them as a back-end data store for Web applications
