Job Description

As a Web Developer you will develop stand-alone websites and custom pages on a web content management system and ensures graphic guidelines are followed in the development of Content Management System (CMS) templates. In addition, you will provide technical support for sites as necessary.

Responsibilities Include:

* Provides production support, and new implementation initiatives to ensure the Health System's vision. Participates in developing, designing and implementing new business processes/systems. Develops work plans and resource allocation for support and projects related to web services. Coordinates and performs tech-support activities associated with projects and operations.
* Participates in researching and evaluating new technology solutions based on the current needs of individual projects.
* Builds functional sites from initial design to implementation; updates and maintains sites, as needed.
* Build templates on Web Content Management System (CMS) for the NS-LIJ Health System intranet (i.e., HealthPort) and Internet web sites.
* Works within the development guidelines of web standards to create new sections/pages, and update existing pages.
* Incorporates Graphic User Interface (GUI) features and other techniques in the construction of web pages.
* Converts Photoshop mock-ups into HTML and CSS prototypes or live web pages, as assigned.
* Maintains and provides ongoing development of web pages, enhanced functionality and interactive content.
* Applies understanding of HealthPort and Internet web site content needs.
* Accesses data for HealthPort and Internet site traffic and usage analysis.
* Collaborates with the Web Services team to provide the best possible solution to meet the needs of the client.
* Creates presentations to express ideas and share solutions with the Web Services team.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, required.
* Minimum of three (3) years experience in web site development, required.
* Strong interpersonal, organizational and communications skills; time management, multi-tasking and ability to adapt to changing priorities.

FRONT END:

* Focus on design and user interface elements including, experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JAVA, Photoshop, solution design and development experience, required.
* In-depth experience working with web standards for user accessibility and experience, required.
* Experience converting Photoshop mock-ups into functional HTML and JavaScript prototype, required.
* Experience with jQuery, PHP, JAVA, ASP.NET, C#.NET, Databases (Oracle and MySQL), preferred.
* Experience working a LAMP environment, preferred.
* Experience with Enterprise Web Content Management experience, particularly Fatwire or MS Sharepoint a plus.

BACK END:

* Focus on system architect and maintenance including, experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JAVA, solution design and development experience, required.
* Experience working with web standards and concepts such as search engine optimization (SEO), required.
* Experience working a LAMP or Linux/JBoss environment, required.
* Experience with jQuery, ASP.NET, C#.NET, Databases (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server), preferred.
* Experience with Enterprise Web Content Management experience, particularly Fatwire or MS Sharepoint a plus.
