BASIC PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION

We are seeking a highly skilled, professional web-based application development and operational support manager to join our dynamic and growing team.In this position, you will oversee web application development and support primarily for our dealer web portal and manage our web development team through various web application and integration development projects.Additionally, you will need to be someone that has provided input into solution architectures and technology selection, leadership, direction, technical knowledge, and direct staff management. You will work collaboratively with business/users, the Project Management Office, Directors, top leadership, the development teams, and various stakeholders within the company, to ensure the delivery of all projects in an efficient, on-budget, and timely manner.

The right person for this position is someone that has spent part of their career as a developer with experience in coding and Agile practices, and has since then progressed from developer, to lead, and then manager.You should be able to provide direction and guide your team in the creation of solutions by providing them with clear instructions in the development, implementation, and maintenance of application components and interfaces.The best candidate for this position would have a solid understanding, be familiar with, and knowledgeable enough to speak and understand the problems their staff may face when working with Java development practices and processes, as well as familiar technologies, including:

* Web Services


* Microservices


* Spring Framework


* Hibernate


* RESTful API Development


* ReactJS, GraphQl, Redis


* JMS


* Middleware


* Java Toolset


* Automated build tools, such as Maven or Gradle


* Open Source Technologies


* Test automation



We are not requiring that the candidates possess those skills, since those are architect and engineering skills.However, knowledge and familiarity with those technologies would be helpful.Additionally, as a full stack web application manager, we're also looking for candidates that are familiar with backend development technologies, including the use of SQL and NoSQL databases.

Also, thorough experience in working on an Agile/Scrum team (preferably with tools such as Jira) is required.This candidate should be familiar with all of the Scrum principles and practices and how they can be applied in an Agile team. This candidate should also be familiar and have participated in Agile/Scrum ceremonies.

We're now in the process of creating our Continuous Integration and Deployment/Delivery pipeline.Someone that has managed personnel and can support them through this process would be ideal. Experience in either Azure or AWS cloud environments would be helpful and a plus, since we're in the middle of a major transformation and migration to the cloud.

Being that our team is still supporting an existing legacy Java Enterprise Edition based application on IBM software (including WebSphere, Integration Bus, DB2, Portal, and CMS, along with Struts/JSPs) knowledge and experience with IBM web-related technology and dealing with vendors (such as IBM, Oracle, and Microsoft) would be helpful and important. The right candidate will help to lead, manage and work with members of the team in achieving a major transformation for Kubota.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES:This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws / regulations and the Company's policies, procedures and guidelines:

* Responsible for collaboration and communication with various teams as needed


* Conduct and assist in interviews, hires, and train new technical support/IT staff


* Provide guidance and insight to upper management and procure buy-in


* Report progress, including any changes made to plans and production


* Contribute to product design and establishment of requirements


* Delegate technical responsibilities and monitor progress of projects


* Deliver products consistently, on time and on budget

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND TRAINING:

* B.S/M.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical or management training and experience


* Excellent written and oral communication skills


* Ability to effectively work in a team environment characterized by rapid change and high availability targets



SKILLS AND BACKGROUND:

* Analytical ability to identify problems, reason logically, and draw valid conclusions in order to determine and implement an effective course of action.


* Required proficiency levels for technical area and applies skills to the development and management of information systems.


* Creativity in delivering and implementing multiple IT solutions related to define information systems projects.


* Strong team leadership skills.


* Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels within an organization.
