Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

The Global Hawk programs seek a candidate to support the Vehicle Management System (VMS) Hardware Avionics team. The VMS Avionics Hardware group is responsible for vehicle guidance, flight control, and management of flight critical hardware consisting of the following VMS subsystems: Flight Control Actuation System (FCAS) and components, Vehicle Management Computer (VMC), Radar Altimeter (RadAlt), Air Data System (ADS), Identification Friend or Foe (IFF), Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS), and Navigation. He/she will be responsible for system and subsystem design, requirements development and verification, system performance analysis, design of analysis tools, interface definition, software requirements, integration and test including flight test.

A successful candidate needs Electrical hardware design, development and troubleshooting skills and be able to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Knowledge and experience with Flight Critical Avionics Integration & Test, real-time system architecture design, network communications, data interface standards (MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, RS-232/429/485, etc.), analog/digital/discrete I/O and real-time operating systems is required. Candidate must have excellent communication skills and be capable of communicating with internal/external customer & supplier.

Candidate must have an electrical engineering degree.

Experience with Electro Mechanical Systems and/or Real Time Computer HW/SW Architecture desired.

Basic Qualifications:

Candidate must have a BS in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 9 years of engineering experience, or MS in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 7 years of experience.

Ability to obtain Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Electro Mechanical Systems and/or Real Time Computer HW/SW Architecture desired.

Currently have interim secret or secret clearance.
