Description:This position is with our Advanced Development Programs known as the Skunk Works located in Palmdale California.

This is a full time senior technical lead position for the Virtual Prototyping group.

The Virtual Prototyping group is an engineering visualization provider of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) services and solutions to Lockheed Martin Corporation and its customers worldwide.

Through the power of advanced visualization, Virtual Prototyping helps people understand complex systems and ideas by "bringing concepts to life," allowing for better, faster decision making and, ultimately, assisting programs in winning new business and performing on existing programs.

From conceptual design thru sustainment, Virtual Prototyping provides discriminating technologies to support the complete product life cycle that articulate information using simulation, visualization, virtual collaboration, human computer interfaces, and synthetic real-time environments.

These capabilities save time, reduce costs and risks, improve quality, and enhance safety by increasing product and process understanding.

The group provides unique capabilities and tailored solutions through product visualization, manufacturing simulation, serious games applications, vehicle simulation, operational awareness, virtual training, maintainability & sustainment operations, virtual & augmented reality, battle space visualization, continuous improvement efforts, facilities development, and much more.

This position has 2 main responsibilities:

First, this position will be responsible to oversee the Virtual Prototyping group's day-to-day project management and execution. This would include close coordination and collaboration with ADP/Aero programs, functions, and the team's partnerships with other LM organizations. This candidate must be comfortable working with artists, engineers, business strategists, and senior leaders to create highly visual products that are typically showcase in front of customers, across the corporation, and seen publicly.

Second, this position will be responsible for the creation of Virtual Prototyping modeling, simulation, and advanced engineering products. This individual will need to understand industry trends in simulation techniques, work with various engineering simulation tools to create products, perform value-stream analysis through the use of engineering simulations, support decision making through the use of data analysis and visualization methods.

This individual needs to be a proven leader with tactical and strategic subject matter expertise and would operate with full authority from Virtual Prototyping leadership to be fully responsible for project management and execution, participate in hiring decisions, and assist in performance reviews.

The candidate needs to have excellent project management skills, the ability to establish/maintain positive and effective relationships with others.

The candidate will need to have outstanding communication skills, be able to multi-task in a time critical environment working well under pressure, and provide effective oral and written presentations/demonstrations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

MUST BE A US CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications:

(1) Understand of artistic development pipelines and skills in artistic tools

(2) Experience with engineering simulation tools

(3) Experience with game engines and associated tools

(4) Experience leading project teams

Desired Skills:

(1) Engineering Simulation - Presagis, VT MaK, DiSTI, MetaVR, STK, etc.

(2) Game Engines - CryEngine, Unity3D, Unreal, and Prepar3D;

(3) CAD - CATIA v4/v5/v6, AutoCAD, Creo, Rhino3D, Alias, etc.

(4) Virtual Reality (VR) - IC.IDO, TechViz, Virtalis

(5) Augmented Reality (AR) - ScopeAR, etc.

(6) Creative Media - Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator, etc. (6) Aeronautical / Aero Space experience
