Job Description

Business Overview:

Global Prime Services technology is seeking a senior Java developer to assist in developing and maintaining an application supporting Prime Brokerage Reporting platform. The front to back Prime Brokerage platform consists of Trade Processing, Wires, Client Sub Ledger, Prime Data Warehouse and our client facing reporting and Prime Portal.

Responsibilities:

* Candidate will work closely with internal clients and team manager to understand needs, define requirements and provide business process automation ideas and solutions.
* Participate in the design, development, release and maintenance of reporting application.
* Interface, as necessary, with other IT teams in the delivery of product.
* Implement core Java applications, as well as, multi-tiered Java applications.
* Learning intricacies of bank's Prime Brokerage IT workflows and infrastructure
* Ensuring adherence to all relevant compliance and regulatory policies
* Ensuring that all development is completed in line with the company's technical architecture and IT security standards
* Manage multiple priorities effectively

Minimum Required Qualifications

* Expertise in core Java programming (10+ years)
* Knowledge of Prime Brokerage Trade Lifecycle and hands-on experience with reporting framework is a must
* Expertise in Java EE design and programming (5 + years, possibly overlapping with core Java experience) and solid understanding of multi-tiered web-based applications
* Expertise of building web service with any standard application server
* Strong understanding of RDBMS databases, JDBC, and database access technologies
* Experience with some set of standard Java developments tools including IDE's, build frameworks and source code control
* Front End development skills in GWT or related technologies
* Java, Spring, Hibernate, Databases such as Sybase, SQL Server
* Although the firm has a distinct front-line Production Management team, the role will also involve co-ordination of level 3 production support and triage management of production incidents

* Bachelor's Degree (Preferably Computer Science or another Engineering field)



Preferred Qualifications:

* Knowledge of UNIX shell scripting
* Excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills
* Tibco, JMS or MQ messaging, Spring
* Knowledge of securities data
