The Digital Intelligence team's mission is to deeply personalize the user experience of our millions of customers through the use of the firm's massive data, machine learning and proprietary data platforms. Whether it's building a financial graph of consumers and small businesses, optimizing ad targeting on chase.com/mobile and paid media sites, recommending the most relevant hotels, or detecting fraudulent behavior, we work at the intersection of statistics, machine learning and engineering to tackle some of the most challenging and interesting problems you will find in digital banking, commerce and payment. The ideal candidate has created production-level low latency and highly scalable Machine Learning pipelines to process terabytes of data, and update predictive models in production. They are hands-on, have a solid understanding of software engineering principles and love learning new skills along the way. They feel comfortable working with a diverse team of data scientists, product managers and business partners. You will be joining one of the most elite data science and engineering teams on Wall Street: several of us have worked at other leading software companies, financial services and start-ups before joining the team.
Senior Machine Learning Lead
This role is being offered within JPMorgan Chase Digital Intelligence organization. DI is responsible for creating advanced and intelligent capabilities for our consumer products. We work closely with our Digital Technology engineering team to bring these solutions to market. It is a fast paced and dynamic environment, where we work with many business and product owners in addition to focusing on technical deliveries. Understanding and interacting with the business is a key component to the success of our work where success is defined as bringing value to our customers.
The candidate needs to have significant training and working experience in machine-learning and more broadly artificial intelligence, system engineering, parallel computing, and computer science. He/she needs to have demonstrated experience in bringing theoretical machine-learning approaches illustrated in academia research papers to actual implementations, i.e. implemented and deployed into large-scale production system certain advanced ML and applied ML algorithms. Big-Data platform work experience is a must, i.e. worked and maintained HBase, Hadoop, Spark, etc. where the candidate has been a key team player. The candidate needs to have significant software engineering work experience, where he/she has been responsible for bringing a complete system to production end-to-end, working with DevOps and various levels of production engineering teams.
7-10 years of software engineering/developer and production experience
3-5 years of applied machine-learning with regression, classification, etc. models for supervised learning
3-5 years of experience in big-data unsupervised learning
5 years of big-Data platform engineering
5 years of parallel computing
Minimum Master's degree in engineering disciplines (candidate's bachelor degree needs to be engineering focused as well), with the focus in computer science and related extended core training and experience. Candidates with equivalent work experience are also highly desirable.
5 years of NLP (natural language processing) with demonstrable work products.
Extensive work experience in financial services, with strong understanding of creating the best products for customers in this sector.
Extensive experience in time series analyses.
