Job Description

Overtone is a new multi-platform chat application for gamers, leveraging Vivox's industry-leading voice communication. As a designer on the core application UX, you will work alongside software engineers and product managers to bring this platform to the next level - helping to cement it as a top-tier app in the space. This role is based in Boston, Mass.

We are currently seeking a designer with excellent interaction and visual design skills, with demonstrated proficiency designing cross-platform experiences. From web to desktop, mobile to console and everywhere in between, the Overtone experience needs to be carefully crafted to make sure it's accessible, powerful and fun.

For this role, you must have killer design skills, a demonstrated ability to manage design projects, and have shipped a world-class product on mobile & desktop platforms. You must be prepared to drive ambiguous projects in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of self-motivation and direction.

Responsibilities

* Work with the product team to define & understand the requirements of a given feature
* Convert stories to product vision, then demonstrate the UX back to the product team
* Produce usable assets for the development team to integrate into the product
* Own the brand - willingness to take on an existing brand, follow guidelines to apply the brand to UX design, and evolve it to new levels going forward
* Communicate directly with customers to understand their struggles with the product / UX and be willing to modify designs to better meet their needs

Requirements

* 3-5 years experience in shipping mobile and desktop software products
* BA in a design-related discipline
* Expert use of standard UX design and prototyping tools (Sketch, Photoshop, etc.)
* Organization skills, with experience working with task-management software (JIRA, Trello, etc.)
* Portfolio of product design highlighting interaction design, visual design, and animation capabilities
