Google is proud to boast a network that provides service to millions of Internet users around the world. The Network Engineering team is responsible for operating that network reliably and at scale. As a member of the team, you have a direct impact on design and feature enhancements to keep our systems running smoothly. You also ensure that network operations are safe and efficient by monitoring network performance, coordinating planned maintenance, adjusting hardware components and responding to network connectivity issues. Google's complex network generates a constant stream of challenges which require you to continually be innovative with an evolving set of technologies. Keeping the network reliable ensures that our users stay connected with our suite of applications, products and services.
As a Network Engineer, you'll use your technical abilities and understanding of IP network systems and architectures to specify and design national, metro and radio access networks (RANs) for the Access team. You're excited by the opportunity to explore new technologies, and you'll drive network integration with wireless network engineers, radio network engineers and transport engineers. You will work with network architects to create IP backbone and transport network design rules and specifications, generate design documents, test and verify the designs to ensure reliability and expandability. You will provide input to Software Engineers and QA teams for Operational Support Systems (OSS) feature development and test plan creations.
At Access, our mission is to create abundant internet on networks that are always fast and always open. Google Fiber provides superfast Internet to homes across the U.S. We want to bring Google Fiber to customers even faster, so we're focused on making deployment more efficient and less intrusive.
