We are reinforcing our Electronic Steering Systems Team by offering a 12 Month Student Placement (£16,500 per year) at Shirley (Solihull), Birmingham

Your tasks:

A high calibre Electronics Engineering student is sought to spend a year with a team of experts in the design and development of Electric Power Steering (EPS) architecture & simulation models. As part of this team, you will develop your expertise in:

* Electronic Architecture Modelling: Creation of electronic architecture in SysML modeling language as part of core development for safety critical automotive control systems
* Electronic Simulation: Cutting edge creation & development of ECU electronic simulation models in Simulink to test out control function & fault response
* Development of Scripts: Creation of scripts to allow interface between tools to minimize work effort & remove human error
* Generation of Requirements and Test Documents: Generating documentation in support of model test, engineering design and development activities

Your profile:

* Student (m/f) in Electronic Engineering or related subject having successfully completed at least 2 years of their degree course before the start of the placement
* Good understanding of modeling tools (e.g. Matlab, Simulink, Simscape, Stateflow) with strong analytical and problem solving skills
* Knowledge of scripting tools e.g. Python, Java, DXL
* Flexible, self-motivated and able to work with limited direct supervision
* An interest and experience in Automotive electronics/systems design
