Job Title: UI/UX DEVELOPER

Location: Merrifield, VA

UI/UX Developer to work in Merrifield, VA or Washington DC.

Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):

The position is a part of the Application development team, which is responsible for developing and maintaining applications to support the business functions of the organization.

As a UI/UX developer, you will work closely with the Product Owners to create features and implement prototypes; and use a mix of HTML, CSS, and advanced JavaScript (Node.js) to code those designs; and will be responsible for creating and designing web components and templates that optimize user interaction and experience.

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

Ø requirements gathering, design, development, testing and documentation;

Ø be responsible for Front End Developer responsibilities;

Ø develop end-to-end designs for the web interfaces, reporting and analysis components of projects;

Ø develop web portals, single page applications and other user interface components to facilitate the user interface to Business data resources;

Ø ability to interpret user stories and create prototypes, implement application and feature designs using sketches.

Ø maintain quality and consistency of markup standards and CSS assets;

Ø collaborate with Product Owners and internal team members (such as functional leads, developers) for review and feedback;

Ø participate in project work groups with Subject Matter Experts and stakeholders to understand data specific needs;

Ø provide production deployment and production support as needed;

Ø maintain updated knowledge of the development industry and any advancements in technology;

Ø Candidate will be responsible for analyzing and converting business requirements to technical requirements, followed by designing and implementing the solutions.

Ø Candidate will work with the Product Owners and functional leads to understand requirements and then create mockups and prototypes.

Ø Candidate will implement the UI designs using a mix of HTML, CSS, advanced JavaScript (Node.js) and will be responsible for creating and designing web components that optimize user interaction and experience.

Ø Candidate will be involved in all aspects of the software development life cycle and demonstrate abilities to learn both the business processes, as well as, new and existing technologies.

Ø Candidate will work closely with software engineers and other project team members to successfully test and assess ongoing development within demanding schedules, as well as, produce test cases and other Postal project documentation.

Ø Candidate will work in an Agile team environment, and must be able to produce with minimal supervision.

Qualifications and Experience:

Required -

Ø Degree from an accredited college or university in a technical field (engineering, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or related field of study) plus at least 5 years of professional service, or an equivalent combination of education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

Ø At least 2+ year of experience with UI/UX development using TypeScript, JavaScript

Ø Experience with React.js or Angular.js, Node.js and common tools Webpack, Parcel, MobX, Express.js.
