Do you enjoy crafting beautiful and high performing web applications leveraging the latest front-end development methodologies, tools, and techniques? Do you have an eye for design and a passion for delivering great user experiences?

Looking for a talented UI developer with Java development skills for custom web solutions for internal IBM use. Candidate will be expected to have extensive software engineering experience in developing custom front ends applications. Additionally, the candidate is expected to have exceptional programming skills and experience with software design, web services, web applications, and the latest software development and deployment tools.

Overview:

In this position, you will be part of a team of Software Engineers who are engaged in a large-scale effort to design, develop, implement and support web based reporting applications. You will implement robust business applications to help us sell our products, interact with our stake holders and other team members. You will be expected to maintain awareness of internet trends, technologies and best practices. You must be adept at problem solving, workflow analysis, interpersonal relations, and have excellent oral/written communications skills. You must have the ability to promote a spirit of partnership and collegiality across administrative and functional areas of the company. You will be expected to contribute with hands on development.

Responsibilities:

* UI development
* Java API development
* Work closely with business owners and product owners to understand requirements and translate to design
* Source code development
* Unit test case development
* Functional/system integration testing support and Deployment
* Integrate component design
* Support production as needed and meet development schedules

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

* 5 plus years of experience in developing custom web front ends with tools like HTML, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, JQuery, and object-oriented programming.
* Exposure to JavaScript frameworks such as Angular.js, React or Ember etc, or JS-based build tools like Grunt, Gulp & Bower
* JavaScript Unit Testing Tools like Karma or Jasmine
* Familiarity with jQuery or Backbone.js libraries and front-end (CSS) frameworks like Bootstrap.
* Chart.js or any client side charting framework is a plus
* REST API, ajax, DB2, Bluemix, Node.js, open source charting library like charts.js, HTML canvas, GitHub
* Java skills for API management and creation
* 5 plus years of experience in demonstrating software engineering skills in developing or modifying large scale software
* Experience in web services and web applications

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

* Demonstrated understanding of Agile process and best practices
* UX design skills are a plus
