The UAS Systems Engineer works at Bell Helicopter's headquarters facility in Ft. Worth, TX, and will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:

* Developing the architecture and requirements for UAS mission systems, vehicle management systems and aircraft sub-systems.
* Developing architectures and requirements that enable reliable and redundant UAS operation in complex environments including; GPS denied, contested, degraded comms and degraded visual environments.
* Developing UAS CONOPS and subsystem functional requirements to satisfy and influence customer capability goals.
* Collaborating in a cross functional team for the definition, selection and integration of sub-systems (system and components) to mutually achieve autonomous mission operations (ISR, Comms relay, electronic support, electronic attack, MUM-T, UMUM-T, civil airspace operation, marinized operation, etc.)
* Supporting the development and maintenance of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) frameworks and use of CASE (Computer Aided Systems Engineering) tools.
* Defining UAS Sates / Modes of operation.
* Support analyses and studies for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties to ensure product success.
* Collaborating with other teams and transferring knowledge gained on advanced technology
* Interact with internal and external personnel on technical matters requiring coordination between organizations.
* Guides the successful resolution of engineering problems, serves as a consulting resource of engineering knowledge, applies the latest technological advancements to the problem.
* Documents findings, communicates results to engineering staff, makes technical presentations, and may represent the organization as the prime technical contact on small identifiable projects.
* Provides direction to design or technical staff and may lead a team of moderately experienced professional staff.

Education Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree is required. Major in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering will be considered.
* Master's Degree in the Engineering disciplines mentioned above is preferred.

Position Requirements:

* Years of experience: Bell is considering candidates at all experience levels.
* Familiarity in multiple disciplines relevant to autonomous systems operations to include (but not limited to); embedded software (Python, C/C ), machine learning, data mining, sensor integration, data fusion, command and control, ground control stations, flight control systems, vehicle management systems, systems engineering, etc.
* Familiarity with Real Time Operating Systems
* Experience with or aptitude to learn currently fielded data links, to include: Link-16, MADL, SADL, CDL, TCDL
* Experience in modeling and analysis of aircraft systems architectures
* Knowledge of aircraft flight dynamics, performance prediction, simulation and modeling.
* Knowledge of air vehicle systems functionality
* Experience with autonomous and/or remote vehicle CONOPS development
* Experience with or aptitude to learn CAMEO or similar tool to support CONOPs simulation / analysis and air vehicle functionality
* Experience or familiarity in the design, development, test, manufacturing or operation of an Air Vehicle system.
* Must have the ability to communicate efficiently and effectively to coordinate systems engineering activities and report status.
