Job Description

Telecommunications design reviewer is responsible for reviewing Inside Plant (ISP), Outside Plant (OSP), copper and fiber designs for CONUS and OCONUS projects utilizing applicable Telecommunications Industry Associations/Electronics Industries Association (TIA/EIA) industry standards, the U.S. Army Installation Information Infrastructure Architecture (I3A) Technical Guide, UFC, Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS), National Electrical Code (NEC), and other pertinent project specific information. Project type and size to be reviewed will vary. Reviews will be conducted at various stages to include during 35%, 65%, and 95% design completion. The design reviewer may be required to participate in design Charrette's, value engineering studies, or project amendment reviews. The design reviewer must be detail orientated, be able to analyze designs, identify design deficiencies, provide redesign recommendations, and clearly reference where the technical requirements are required/not met. Coordination with various Government stakeholders will be necessary while conducting design reviews.

Candidates for this position should be familiar with the Design Review and Checking System (DrChecks), AutoCAD, U.S. Army Information Systems Planning, Programming, and Cost Estimation (ISPPCE) tool, know how to create Information Systems Cost Estimates (ISCE) and have experience with projects in Europe and Korea. The design reviewer will be responsible for creating updated ISCE's and providing training on the ISPPCE tool.

Education

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.

Qualifications

* 15-20 years of related systems engineering experience.
* Active Secret clearance required
