VDOT is seeking an individual who will provide IT Support Services under the direction of the District's Information Technology Resource Manager to enhance IT troubleshooting capabilities to agency field staff for wireless device and VTC needs. VDOT employees serve the citizens of the Commonwealth and travelling public daily through our mission to plan, deliver, operate and maintain a transportation system that is safe, moves people and goods, enhances the economy, and improves quality of life. VDOT is the third largest state maintained highway system in the country, maintaining over 58,000 miles of roads, bridges, and tunnels, and employing over 7700 people through a diverse workforce. VDOT is seeking a Telecommunications Coordinator who will: ? provide end user technical support with VTC and AV connections, troubleshooting and scheduling as needed; ? provide distribution and training for Secure ID Token (FOBs);; ? coordinate Telecommunications Services to include wireless devices (mobile phones, MiFi), landlines (Centrex, UCaaS); ? provide procurement, activation and end user technical support, training and detailed record keeping to comply with the VDOT Mobile Communications Use Memorandum; ? serves as Procurement, Buyer for District IT and Administration Section through eVA; ? provide support and training to District Users; ? conduct monthly audit and payment of VITA Telecommunication bill and assistance with electronic telephone billing system; ? analyze and process payment of telecommunication bill; maintain inventory database for bill reconciliation and ensue compliance; ? keep up-to-date on contracts and state procurement guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include: ? Knowledge of telecommunications technology and related hardware equipment and services (VOIP, ISDN, VTC, wireless) with the ability to provide operational support. ? Skill in the use of troubleshooting tools and managing and administering wireless devices. ? Skill in the use of personal computers and Microsoft Desktop products including Windows, G-Mail and MS Office Suite and web based applications. ? Experience in inventory management with emphasis on technical inventories. ? Ability to exercise judgment and creativity in selecting and applying procedures appropriately and determining when to refer problems to the supervisor or next level of support. ? Ability to gather and analyze data and prepare reports. ? Ability to develop and maintain effective working and interpersonal relationships with colleagues and customers. ? Skill in training users on telecommunications equipment. ? Experience working with tracking and reporting tools. Knowledge of data communications, equipment and billing processes. ? Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with individuals and groups at varying levels of technical expertise. ? Capability to work with minimum supervision and act as lead as need arises. ? Valid Driver's license required.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include: ? Degree in Telecommunications or Information Systems Technology or related field preferred; technical training may substitute for degree.
