Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, business, communications, or related field is required
* Master's degree in engineering, business or public administration or related field is preferred
* PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred
* Five or more years of experience in IT and/or technical project management
* Demonstrated experience leading diverse project teams to successful project outcomes
* Experience in a large educational environment is preferred
* Expert knowledge of one or more project management methodologies (e.g. PMI PMBOK, PRINCE2, Agile)
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Project
* Effective influencing and negotiating skills
* Knowledgeable of emerging technologies and how enterprises employ technology to achieve business goals
* Knowledgeable of organizational change management practices and methodologies
* Knowledge and ability to read standard architectural drawings
* Knowledge and experience in IT infrastructure, education technology, applications development, or business systems
* Knowledge and experience in monitoring project progress and in quality assurances of deliverables and documentation
* Expert oral and written communications skills
* Well organized and adept at maintaining project documentation
* Ability to move through an active construction site for the purposes of inspecting IT infrastructure installation work
* Ability to lift and carry 10 lbs

BASIC FUNCTIONS:

* Develop and/or analyze project proposals to determine time frame, funding limitations and appropriate process for accomplishing projects
* Establish work plans and resourcing for project activities, iterations or phases, and arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnel
* Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones and required activities and tasks
* Develop and implement project communication plans
* Perform project risk assessment, and implement mitigation plans
* Monitor and control project activities, ensuring the currency, quality and integrity of the information
* Ensure that project goals are accomplished and aligned with business objectives
* Provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project life cycle, and confer with project staff to outline work plan
* Ensure District standards are met and school technology systems are installed per specifications
* Maintain appropriate project documentation in accordance with bond and E-rate program compliance requirements
* Coordinate with construction project managers at the district's campuses to ensure alignment with bond funded technology projects
* Prepare and deliver oral and written project status reports
* Prepare and/or review vendor contracts and other associated documents
* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with peers, subordinates, supervisors, vendor representatives
* Collaborate with internal and external project stakeholders
* Assign duties, responsibilities and scope of authority to project personnel and monitor progress
* Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned

Salary Minimum: $61,651

Selected individuals for Dallas Independent School District positions will be placed according to compensation guidelines. A campus-based employee may not assume a new position for which he/she was selected based upon the posting process until the end of the current semester, unless approved by the chief officer - Human Capital Management.
