POSITION SUMMARY
The candidate will serve as part of an enterprise information technology team. The specific role will serve as the IT point of contact for the office. The ideal candidate will have experience in a multitude of different areas within IT. The candidate must be able to work independently within a team framework to complete work in an accurate and timely manner. Keen attention to detail and proven analytical problem solving abilities will be required. The candidate will need to possess exceptional communication skills to effectively communicate with team members and employees within the office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
Manage and maintain existing information technology tools within the infrastructure. Prioritize and schedule problems. Drive IT incident resolutions for site challenges that arise. Identify and learn appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization. Resolve end user issues, including both software and hardware. Resolve server related issues, both software and hardware. Troubleshoot and resolve networking related problems. Perform related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or equivalent, and/or 3 years work experience in related field required
Serve as the IT point of contact
Assisting end users with IT related challenges
Assisting in deploying, configuring and supporting IT networking equipment
Performing hands-on fixes at the desktop and server level, including installing and upgrading software, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications
Experience providing application support
Keeping systems compliant to organizational policies and regulatory requirements
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Exceptional customer service skills
Deep experience and expertise in Microsoft Windows Server products 2008 and 2012, and related technologies such as backup systems, email systems, virus protection, desktop operating systems, etc.
Detailed theoretical and practical knowledge of IP protocols, firewalls, and routers.
Experience configuring, installing, and troubleshooting centralized network infrastructure such as routers, hubs, firewall, switches, etc.VMware, MCSE, Citrix, CCNA, CCNE, Apple, or Linux experience.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES - KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Knowledge of basic computer hardware for both desktops and servers
Knowledge of Palo Alto or Cisco firewall technologies
Knowledge of Routers, Firewalls, Switches, DNS, and DHCP
Knowledge of routing and switching technologies including Cisco and HP
Strong knowledge of Cisco, PaloAlto and other enterprise-class data networking equipment and product lines
Knowledge of LAN/WAN/MAN networking concepts and Internet edge configurations
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, access control lists, firewalls, Site-to-Site and Client VPN (Cisco), NAT and network traffic analysis
Routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP and static routesVLANs, STP, Port Channel, HSRP, VRRP
Experience with desktop and server operating systems including Windows, Linux, and Mac OS
Problem resolution using a ticketing system (i.e. Remedy, Zendesk, Serena, etc.)Knowledge of information security best practices
