Backstop is seeking a results oriented Technical Implementation Consultant to join our Professional Services team, based in our Chicago headquarters.

What you'll do:

* Produce client reports using proprietary tools, Java, JavaServer Pages, VBA, Excel and other business intelligence solutions
* Creation and maintenance of data migration tools using Python, internal, and 3rd party APIs
* Technical consultation with clients, covering common API use cases and best practices
* Data manipulation and migration (ETL) using proprietary tools, Excel, Apache Nifi, and SQL
* Data modeling and mapping of 3rd party systems to Backstop
* Estimate and communicate effort needed for client and internal work
* Working across teams to ensure delivery of work is on time, within budget, and meets the requirements of the client
* Thoroughly document tool and process development, ongoing contribution to knowledge sharing within team
* Identify additional product, process, or service opportunities

* BS/BA or equivalent work experience

Experience and Skills

* 2+ years of experience with programming and scripting skills (Java, Python, and VBA)
* 2+ years of experience with relational databases (SQL & Oracle)
* 2+ years of technical consulting experience
* Strong demonstrated understanding of HTTP
* Solid grasp of different data types (e.g. HTML, XML, JSON, CSV, etc.)
* Understanding of data models and data flows in complex multi-tier database and application environments

Bonus Points:

* Experience with C#/.Net framework
* Experience with version control systems (Git, SVN)
* Familiarity with Ticketing and workflow platforms (Jira, Confluence, OpenAir)
* Familiarity with Unix based operating systems
* Experience with containerization/OS virtualization (Docker)
* Experience with Virtual Machine maintenance
* Experience with Splunk
