Technical Project Manager / Systems Engineer Capella Space

Job Description

Capella is looking for a technically versed project manager with experience in systems that include electronics, software, and RF systems. In this role you will be responsible for managing two very specific high profile prototype product development projects at Capella.

You will be working primarily with external partners and work with select experts & stakeholders inside Capella to deliver the product demonstrations in collaboration with the operations, RADAR, and business development team. You will also be expected to manage technical and programmatic aspects of the relationship with the ultimate end-users and project sponsors outside Capella.

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the executive team in delivering technology that will greatly advance Capella's market reach and enhance our overall product offering.

Following the successful completion of the prototype development, we expect this role to carry on leading the production & commercialization efforts of the developed products.

This position will report directly to the VP of Engineering and will work closely with the VP of USG Services.

Requirements

You should have experience managing technically complex research & development projects. Ideally, you have done so in the context of small companies and US government contracts. You should be familiar with creating, managing, and delivering on project plans.

You should also be technically well versed, ideally with a formal engineering background in electrical, software, computer engineering or a related discipline.

You should be able to approach problems with a systems approach - yet have the ability to dive into technical details where needed - relying as necessary on supporting team members.

You will be required to work with and manage a small number of subcontractors.

Ideally you have managed similar projects ($1M-$5M, 6-12 Months, multidisciplinary) in the past a few times. It would be helpful if you have experience working with DoD or similar USG contracts (such as SBIRs, BAAs).

Technical expertise preferred in the following areas:

* Telecommunications
* Embedded Software
* RADAR Systems
* Simulation systems
* High reliability systems / MIL standards

Previous or current security clearance a plus but not required.

Some domestic and international travel may be required.
