About Amazon

Job Description

We are the engine that powers Amazon!

From massive scale, reliability and 'big data' challenges, to the customer interaction and innovation that powers new businesses across Amazon, the eCommerce Foundation organization is at the heart of Amazon's growth and success. Our global systems are part of every purchase, every shipment, every browse of a product and every login. Our constant innovation enables businesses from Kindle and AWS to fulfillment to mobile. In addition to our platform services, we drive architectural changes across Amazon to keep the company moving at internet speed whether we want to launch a new country or a brand new website or move into entirely new forms of online commerce.

We are looking for a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to deliver a new global invoicing platform. You should have the desire and talent to make big changes in a rapidly changing environment. In this role, you will exercise your leadership skills as you work closely with customers, product managers, and senior management to define, design, build and operate products that are in the early stage of fast adoption within the company. You will demonstrate your technical skills by influencing the team's technical direction through communication, collaboration and commitment to a high quality bar. Additionally, you will assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, provide management of critical issues, make trade-offs and balance the business needs versus technical constraints to achieve business goals. You will have a technical background, be detail driven and have excellent problem solving and program management skills. You should not only be passionate about delivering extensible, on-time solutions, but should also be obsessed with contributing to the development of high-performance teams through rigorous goal-setting, strict attention to performance metrics, continuous process improvement and mentorship.

From a business and technical perspective, you will:

* Have a consistent track record of shaping business strategy for technical products or services
* Possess a strong understanding of the Payments industry
* Understand how to design software for financial systems
* Be conversant with internet technologies
* Have an entrepreneurial spirit

Professional traits which are not unique to this position, but necessary for Amazon leaders:

* Shows excellent judgment
* Is passionate about high standards (is never satisfied with the status quo)
* Is able to dive deep and is never out of touch with the details of the business
* Delivers innovative solutions
* Has passion and convictions and the innate ability to earn trust of others
* Strong results orientation
* Thinks big
