Job Description

Amazon is seeking a world class Technical Program Manager to support Tax Tech projects as part of the Tax TPM team. The team is newly formed to take on the growing technical challenge of building automated solutions for Amazon's tax related responsibilities. This is an exciting and challenging role, and will give the right person a chance to solve new and unique problems while being a part of a company and a team making history.

This critical role will lead the technical planning, design and delivery for Tax Tech of a key set of engineering services. Successful candidates will have demonstrated strong technical competency with an exceptional bias for action and comfort driving forward despite ambiguity. This role will own the intake, roadmap and ongoing planning for a set of services that are part of the broader Tax Tech portfolio. The role will require proven ability to translate business level requirements into actionable development work with heavy emphasis on quality and timely delivery. As such, the candidate will often be required to work across teams to remove roadblocks, and carefully manage scope to deliver results on a range of projects while still earning trust across multiple stakeholders. The candidate should be able to effectively lead the technical team from architecture through delivery to develop the right solution to the business problem. The candidate should be able to work with the business line, and technical and finance/accounting/tax partners to deliver results. The ideal candidate has thrived and succeeded in delivering broadly adopted technology products/services in a very high growth, high scale environment where priorities shift quickly. He or she is a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly and compellingly and who understands how to drive a high level of focus and excellence. Finally, as a member of the TPM team you will take an active role in our focus on continuous improvement.
