Job Description

What You'll Get to Do: Under minimal direction, manage and lead one or more teams of experienced Hardware R&D engineers in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) enterprise organization with impact to planning, development, and implementation for technical projects, quality management systems, process development and improvement and overall customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Support Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles and practices by participating in the Release Train's events such as Program Increment Planning, Inspect and Adopt daily stand-ups, etc.
* Serve as Scrum Master on one team
* Deliver external and internal customer satisfaction by demonstrating exemplary leadership and measuring results
* Identify, execute and deliver process improvements to business operational model
* Build the team's capabilities by hiring, developing skills and excellent engineering talent
* Provide staff leadership and oversight to include selection, performance management, career development, and workload management
* Lead and grow high performance technical teams to innovate and execute both short-term and long-term project goals
* Cultivate and reinforce appropriate group values, norms and behaviors and provide guidance on employee development, performance and productivity
* Promote change and innovation in support of the organization's objectives
* Perform other duties as required
* Obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level required to perform the duties of the position

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

Education:

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical degree and 6-8 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education, skills and experience
* Master's degree preferred

Experience:

* Demonstrated leadership ability in establishing organizational goals, implementing value-added process improvements and motivation of a highly skilled team while maintaining a strong customer focus
* A minimum of 2 years of experience in coaching and supervision of technical staff and building customer relationships
* Experience with government programs
* Understanding and experience with technical project management best practices including a quality focus
* Hardware design experience, in the area of digital and RF board design, and FPGA design

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

* Basic understanding of cellular systems and commercial cellular technologies (GSM, CDMA, LTE, UMTS and 3G/4G)
* Experience working in a Scaled Agile environment and collaborating with Agile roles such as Product Manager (PM), Release Train Engineer (RTE), System Architect Engineer (SAE), Product Owner (PO), Scrum Master (SM) and Development Team
* Knowledge of digital hardware design and FPGA development
* Knowledge of HDL-based FPGA development
* Knowledge of analog and RF hardware designs
* Knowledge of microprocessor and microcontroller based designs
* Knowledge of interfacing digital and RF components
* Knowledge of board development tools, FPGA development tools, and change management systems.
