As the Technical Lead/Architect in Test, you will be working with some of the most accomplished multi-functional software teams in the industry. We need you to act as the main catalyst for building requirements in order to develop frameworks, tooling, automation and effective testing models. Our systems are large enterprise solutions spanning on-premise and cloud, Linux and Windows. You will lead the improvement of existing test infrastructure and guide the development of new automation tools and systems. Your background should also include experience with microservices.

You have extensive hands-on experience testing and solving issues in enterprise-grade, multi-threaded applications. Your fluency with the concepts of threads, processes, concurrency, and distributed systems is vital to helping mentor your team. You have demonstrated an ability to breakdown complex problems, establish root cause and provide corrective actions for various issues.

In this role, you will propose, define and implement processes/standards for improved testing layers (functional/system/large-scale) and effective automation tools in line with Continuous Integration for a DevOps pipeline delivery model.

Your extensive experience with all phases of the SDLC in an Agile environment is critical. We will also draw from your experience with different operating systems. You will engage with high level customers and help solve and provide RCCA when needed.

We will ask you to lead collaborative design reviews and perform test code inspections to optimize and continuously evolve existing processes based on requirements and feedback. Your ability to foster effective communication between various engineering and customer success teams is a highly-valued skill here at Splunk.

Responsible for initiating, technically architecting/designing and driving forward high impact ideas for product area and company.

Requirements

* 12+ years of experience in enterprise-level software design, test development, and solving complex problems in production environments
* 5+ years building test automation framework on top of open source tools
* 3+ years of Object Oriented software development experience, ideally in C++
* 2+ years Python experience

Skills That Will Get Our Attention

* Your experience developing test automation tools for enterprise level products
* Your coding skills in an Object Oriented language, augmented by strong scripting chops in Python
* You are comfortable with many test coverage tools and what their individual advantages are in specific situations
* You know microservices deeply and are a proponent of container technologies
* You have a real passion for distributed systems
* You have worked with tools such as CTest/CMake, Golang, Selenium, Rest Assured, Appium, etc.
* A familiarity with security protocols such as LDAP, SAML, SSO would be very useful
* Being well versed in Big Data technologies is a big plus (Hadoop, MapReduce, Spark, Kafka); so is hands-on experience with Machine Learning.
