Job Description

The Architect will play a critical role in designing, developing and implementing high performing applications using NOSQL DB and BigData technologies such as Hadoop. The candidate will play the role of fostering, promoting the usage of NOSQL, BigData technologies in the CIS applications. The candidate should be hands-on and have solid experience in using NOSQLDB, BigData and Cloud technologies. We're looking for an energetic self-starter who is proactive in driving the adoption of NoSQL DB, BigData and AWS Cloud within CIS applications.

Job Description Requirements:

* With direction from the Chief Architect and Architect Leader, align application technical architecture with key business strategy
* Responsible for building scalable distributed data solutions
* Work with the Application Development team to implement data strategies, build data flows and develop conceptual data models
* Maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models along with corresponding metadata
* Analyze data-related system integration challenges and propose appropriate solutions
* In collaboration with subject matter experts and data stewards, defines and implements data strategy, policies, controls, and programs to ensure the enterprise data is accurate, complete, secure, and reliable
* Manages, analyzes, and resolves data initiative issues and manages revisions needed to best meet internal and customer requirements while adhering to published data standard
* Assists in the application and implementation procedures of data standards and guidelines on data stewardship, coding structures, and data replication to ensure access to and integrity of data sets
* Experience in using NOSQL DB such as CASSANDRA, MONGODB, NEO4J and REDIS
* Experience in using container technology such as DOCKEKRS, KUBERNETES, PaaS (OPENSHIFT) to deploy Cassandra DB, MicroServices and related tools will be an added advantage
* Experience in using and integrating with BigData technologies such as HDFS, HBASE, HIVE, MapReduce, PIG, SPARK, IMPALA, STORM, KAFKA, and SOLR
* Experience in Cloud technologies - AWS, BOTO, S3 and Security protocols
* Experience developing REST API using Hadoop
* Experience in designing in applications using Lambda architecture
* Promote and influence usage of BigData and Cloud architectural standards, patterns and models in project and be a support anchor for development teams
* Proven prototyping track record in assessment of BigData technology integration or a design pattern for a project or a proof of concept solution
* Mentor and coach peers to facilitate the broader adoption of architectural standards using BigData and Cloud technologies
* Logically analyze business challenges and opportunities. Conceive viable, innovative solutions and present them to both technical and business stake holders
* Create project deliverables, including, but not limited to: architectural diagrams, project proposals, requirements specification documents, project plans, software application prototypes, executive presentations and reviews

Required Qualifications:

* BS in Computer Science or a non-Computer Science BS degree with relevant work experience/skills
* Experience in Agile
* Should have at least a minimum of 5 years of experience in Big Data and Cloud architecture/design skills
* Should have previously lead a successful large scale Big Data project till implementation
* Experience working with industry standards, regulations, and guidelines in database warehousing and other relevant systems
* Strong presentation skills
* Self-motivated, assertive, goal oriented and able to work productively with minimal supervision
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with other team members, on a global basis 

Technical Skills:

* 5-10 years of hands-on programming using Python, Java, C, C , and Scala
* 3-5 years of hands on experience using:
* BigData Technologies: HDFS, HBASE, HIVE, MapReduce, PIG, SPARK, IMPALA, STORM, KAFKA
* NoSQL Technologies: SOLR, CASSANDRA, NEO4J and REDIS
* Cloud Technologies: AWS, BOTO, S3
* Working Knowledge of RDBMS DB
* Working knowledge of developing RESTFUL API's
* Knowledge of UNIX - Script language is highly preferable
* Knowledge of multi-tier architectures and deployment
* Knowledge of real-time, batch applications
* Knowledge of IBM mainframes, z/OS, and virtualization technologies a plus
* Knowledge of Change Data Capture/Replication technologies a plus
