Data is at the core of our business. The Sr ETL Developer serves as a key resource in building and executing on Chubb's information strategy. The ideal candidate for this role is a self-starter who will take ownership of your projects and deliver high-quality data-driven solutions. You are adept at solving diverse business problems by utilizing a variety of different tools, strategies, and methodologies. You should be comfortable working with data in varying technology platforms, data types, and formats. S/he will play a key role in data integration efforts by working with ETL developers, data analysts, testers, and report developers to form a cohesive unit responsible for providing business information.

This individual will work with key stakeholders, business partners, and IT counterparts to define requirements, identify source data, assist with high level data designs, analyze, and creating solutions for data issues.

Essential Qualifications:

* Ability to synthesize data, uncovers inherent trends in data, assess impacts of data on business usage, and make recommendations for improvement.
* Prior experience working in the Property and Casualty Insurance domain a must have.
* Prior experience working in a data warehouse environment or on data integration projects a strong plus.
* Self-motivated and innovative with the ability to set direction, manage own work, and effectively obtain results from others.
* Strong influencing & partnership skills; ability to work collaboratively with business and IT counterparts.

Technical Skills

* Strong experience working with Informatica PowerCenter and other Informatica offerings like Informatica Data Quality, Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services.
* Senior level data analysis capabilities, experience using SQL to facilitate the data integration process through profiling data, understanding relationships in the data, and validating the integrity of the data.
* Experience working with enterprise class RDBMS platforms like Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2. Must have worked on ETL efforts in one of these environments.
* Experience creating UNIX shell scripts to perform file level validation and analysis.
* Prior experience creating JIl files and using AutoSys for job orchestration, monitoring, and reporting.
* Ability to gain a complete understanding of systems, data flows, integration points, and quickly assess the impacts of changes.
* Must have an ability to read, understand, and interpret Data Models.
* Prior experience working with MS Azure or other Cloud Platforms a plus.

Responsibilities:

* Analyze business procedures and requirements to recommend specific types of data that can be used to improve upon them.
* Work with business stakeholders to outline the specific data needs for each project.
* Serve as technical lead for projects, enhancements, and production. Provide direction, leadership, and mentorship to offshore ETL resources to ensure quality of deliverables.
* Work with Information architect and other ETL Developers to develop high/low level designs and technical specifications that can be accurately executed by onshore and offshore outsourced resources.
* Establish work estimates based on business requirements through participation in project feasibility, scoping, and estimating activities.
* Provide hands-on design, development and testing for the most complex work.
* Coordinate/lead production implementations to ensure smooth and quality releases.

Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

* Strong background in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence environment working with large data sets.
* Strong collaboration with management, peers, and external teams
* Excellent communication/interpersonal skills, with experience coordinating ETL work with an onshore/offshore vendor team. Must be able to clearly communicate.
* Experience mentoring and leading junior developers, especially in an onshore/offshore model.
* Flexibility to manage work schedule as needed to support onshore/offshore model.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent problem solving skills. Applies technical knowledge to determine solutions and solve complex problems.
* Proven ability to create and maintain documentation (ETL designs, technical specs, test cases, test results, project status, deployment plans, etc.)
* Experience working on projects using Agile, Scrum, or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
