The Automobile Club of Southern California is seeking career-minded individuals for our Team Lead opportunity in Costa Mesa, CA.
Provides leadership and direction to a multi-state based automated testing team in support of Project Process Improvement methodology, application systems projects, and maintenance activities. Instructs, directs, and reviews the work of assigned automation test team members including supervisory management responsibilities (e.g., hiring, performance management).
Devises or modifies procedures to solve business problems. Maintains knowledge of IS technologies and technical concepts, formulates automated testing scope and objectives, and effectively applies that knowledge to application systems and maintenance projects under test. Understands IT structure and responsibilities of other areas/units that impact assigned projects or maintenance.
Knowledgeable in the application development process, project planning, and monitoring. Demonstrates understanding of project estimating, project scheduling (including critical path management), resource management, and change management concepts and applies that knowledge to application system projects and maintenance. Audits processes and products developed by the team. Participates in development of the detailed Automation Test Plan and responsible for related automated testing tasks including validation that testing meets organizational standards, automation standards, and end user requirements. Performs in a Quality Assurance role, as it pertains to independent oversight for development and test activities.
Executes system, regression, and production shakedown test cases and documents test results and escalates problems. Leads the effort in performance testing and functional testing using automated test tools. Recognizes opportunities, effectively identifies problems, and analyzes all aspects to determine root cause, and develops appropriate recommendations for mitigation. Identifies and aggressively manages project risks. Responsible for automated build management, test data management, configuration management, and mainframe test batch support.
Four-year college degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field or equivalent work experience.
7-10 years of quality assurance and control experience, preferably in IT, with 3-5 years managing direct reports and project teams in the area of planning, designing and deploying technology systems projects. Experience in reviewing and critiquing software products and processes.
