Forterra is a leading manufacturer of pipe and products in the U.S. and Eastern Canada for a variety of water-related infrastructure applications, including water transmission, distribution and drainage. Key Activities & Accountabilities
* Support the integration of acquisitions onto Syteline and applications platforms
* Work with IT on enhancements as requested by business users
* Work on gap analysis, solution specification, design review as well as QA testing for local projects
* Support the lead to order, order to cash and procure to pay business processes
* Support business processes relating to boundary applications
* Serve as an advocate for the business and a liaison to IT for all system supported business activities
* Assist with Syteline help desk as required
* Understand and support data flow management both inside and outside IT systems
* Utilize knowledge of industry best practices as it relates to the manufacturing industry
* Co-ordinate with other members of the business analysis team, developers, support managers and DBA's regarding support issues
* Lead and/or assist in driving business issues and projects to resolution
* Participate in solution design meetings with business and IT teams
* Participate in test cycles of other projects that impact the business and business applications
* Participate in solution confirmation activities and the fit/gap analysis, identify key gaps and ensure that the foot print and design meets the local requirements
* Ensure the integration between the project team, support team and the business
* Support project rollouts
* Ensure design fits with current requirements and future business direction
* Ensure process consistency across business units
* Ensure that change management process is followed for all changes to production system
* Ensure timely issue identification, resolution, and appropriate escalation
* Participate in status review meetings and provide timely feedback to team
* Communicate the functional and process requirements to the development team by developing and maintaining functional specs documents
* Help lead functional, integration and solution acceptance testing
* Help lead functional conversion activities in specific areas of competency
* Reduce our dependency on consultants, in the application area, through an efficient knowledge transfer process
Job requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Business or IT field, or equivalent work experience
* Travel to FBP sites as needed
* 10% average travel
Experience
* At least 3 years of professional experience in industrial applications support
* 1-3 years of experience in a Syteline 8+ support and maintenance role
* 1-3 years of professional experience in a business support role in 3 or more of the following areas
* Sales support
* Project management
* Dispatching
* Scheduling
* Purchasing
* Inventory control
* Plant or Regional administration
* Experience in gap analysis, functional specs doc creation, design review, creating functional test cases and performing functional testing a plus
