Duties of the Quality Engineer include but are not limited to:

* Partner with LM Engineering & Program Management to ensure the highest level of quality is delivered to the warfighter.
* Interface with Government Quality representatives, respond the corrective actions and conduct joint inspections.
* Assures conformance to program unique requirements, Lockheed Martin RMS policies & procedures, and industry standards.
* Assists in investigating problems to uncover root cause & implement corrective/preventive actions
* Supports development of System and CI (configuration item) requirements & detailed designs including System, Software, Hardware and documentation (operational & test).
* Ensures effective peer reviews against contractual and program processes
* Participation in risk and opportunity management
* Witnesses Tests and verifies dry runs and formal tests
* Supports collection and analysis of measurements
* Performs audits and reviews objective evidence (both internal and external (vendor, subcontractors))
* Verifies product baselines including hardware and end-item software media.
* Reviews purchase orders, insuring contractual requirement flow down to vendors and subcontractors

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Engineering from an accredited college or related discipline; Engineering/System Development Skills. or equivalent experience/combined education, with 2-3 years of professional experience; or no experience required with a related Masters degree. Considered experienced, but still a learner

Demonstrated ability to design, develop, document, and test hardware, software and systems. The ability to apply engineering knowledge of hardware and software, to investigate problems, to prepare operating instructions and to document program development. Follows and ensures product standards are met.
