Senior IT Technical Analyst - WebSphere Application Server

Application Platform Support

The Application Platform Support Team has an opening for a Senior IT Technical Analyst to provide support for Chubb's web application server environments with specific responsibility for the IBM WebSphere Application Server and WebSphere stacked products. This position will provide hands on operational support for several of the intranet/extranet technologies and applications at Chubb.

The position roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Provide design and operations support for Chubb's thin client server environments based on WebSphere Application Server
* On-call support for system problems and changes. Responsible for the stability of the environment and resolution of Level 3 issues. Provide technical support for troubleshooting problems
* Respond to customer inquiries regarding technical support in assigned areas, and respond to outages as a priority
* Work with Application Areas to implement new applications in the environments
* Interact with multiple partners developing and enforcing standards
* Install and configure application "runtime" software
* Work as part of an IT team to coordinate the release of software upgrades
* Participate in hardware and software upgrades and installations impacting assigned services and environments
* Plan and implement changes to improve service. Focus on "always-on" solutions
* Maintain system availability, reliability and performance
* Design, develop and support scalable re-usable solutions
* Provide Performance tuning and Architecture inputs and best practices in design and development
* Open to new technologies and interfaces like Cloud, containerization, and kubernetes

Technical Experience:

Knowledge designing, administering, and supporting web applications using the following tools:

* WebSphere Application Server V8 and/or V9
* UNIX and Windows Servers
* Automation tools such as Jenkins
* Jacl, Jython or UNIX shell Scripting for administrative tasks
* Experience with high availability and enterprise systems

Experience with the following tools and Technologies a plus:

* WebSphere MQ
* JEE Application Development
* Apache HTTP server
* Tomcat
* SQL
* Monitoring tools like CA Introscope/APM, AppDynamics, SCOM
* Experience with continuous integration and iterative development methodology
