Responsibilities

MTSI is seeking Systems Engineer, Weapon Systems Cybersecurity who will provide systems engineering expertise and support services to Department of Defense customers. This will include review and assessment of a wide range of complex weapon systems to identify the level of mission and technical risk inherent in the current cyber security posture, as well as appropriate mitigations to manage that risk. One position will be located in the National Capital Region (NCR), and the other on Hanscom AFB in Bedford, Massachusetts.

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:

* Provide technical expertise and support in the area of systems engineering as a key member of a Department of Defense organization.
* Lead or participate in assessment teams to identify Systems Engineering-related issues and risks; perform root cause analysis; and recommend issue recovery plans or risk mitigation plans.
* Assist with developing Department of Defense policy in the areas of weapon systems cyber resiliency, cyber survivability, cyber security, and cyber defensibility.
* Provide oral and written briefings to senior DoD senior leadership.
* Create written reports detailing assessment findings and recommendations.
* Conduct assessments of program systems engineering technical reviews and produce reports to meet regulatory and statutory requirements.
* Coordinate with major acquisition programs to develop and implement Systems Engineering Plans and Program Protection to improve program execution and meet DoD 5000.2 requirements.

Qualifications

* 10+ years' of in experience, of which at least 3 years demonstrates an ability to work and effectively communicate (written and verbal) as a key member of a joint Government/Contractor team.
* Experience across systems engineering, full DoD acquisition lifecycle, cyber security, program management, requirements generation, and DoD policy, or have several of the desired areas coupled with a willingness to learn new skills.
* Knowledge of the DoD 5000 series, to include the Defense Acquisition Guidebook (DAG) with special emphasis on program protection.
* Experience working in an acquisition program office and on Service/OSD staff overseeing major defense acquisition programs.
* Knowledge of DoD test and evaluation processes.
* Knowledge of the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF).
* Knowledge of the DoD requirements generation process.
* Be comfortable operating with strategic guidance and minimal supervision and be able to complete projects to an excellent level on time.
* Able communicate complex cyber security issues to non-technical personnel in a way that is clear and concise and should be comfortable presenting information to various levels of leadership.
* Background in DoD program management and DoDI 5000.02 processes.
* Experience with weapon system development.
* Expert technical knowledge on weapon systems.

Education Requirements:

* Bachelor's required and Master's "DESIRED" in one of the following fields of study:
* Systems engineering.
* Cyber-security (e.g., cybersecurity, computer science, computer engineering).
* Engineering field (e.g., aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering)



Certifications: One or more "DESIRED"

* Defense Acquisition University SPRDE or ENG Level III.
* INCOSE Associate, Certified, or Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP, CSEP, ESEP).
* Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
* Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
* CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CASP+,
