Summary:

The System Engineer (Senior) applies laws, policies, directives, and guidance to acquisitions throughout the total life-cycle. They will provide systems engineering (SE) support to assess and oversee the technical requirements, design, development and implementation for those systems under the purview of the Marine Corp Recruiting Command (MCRC).

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Support contract procurement planning, solicitation, award, and monitoring activities.
* Conduct requirements analysis, design, development, performance measurement, verification and validation, certification and accreditation, deployment, change management, and transition by applying a broad and deep set of engineering expertise.
* Conduct analysis of various database structures and links and develop singular or multiple databases capable of populating data to meet the contractual needs of the US Marine Corps MCRISS program.
* Perform data migration from various client databases into a consolidated database.
* Analyzes functional business applications and design specifications for functional activities.
* Employ knowledge of client server and internet systems architectures
* Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

* Bachelor's degree required with 3 years of experience with systems engineering support, including requirements definitions, architecture development, and other program support
* Additional experience may be used in lieu of a degree.
* 3 years (preferred) of experience with database development.
* Valid DoD 8570 IAT II or IAM II certificate or be willing to obtain certificate within 90 days of hire
* Must either possess Secret level clearance or have ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level clearance

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* A broad and deep set of engineering expertise.
* Possess significant knowledge and experience with database procedure languages: MySQL, T-SQL, etc.
* Understand complex database concepts as well as the implications of different database designs and possesses demonstrated work experience with more than one relational database management system.
* Strong communications skills (both written and oral), strong customer service and excellent interpersonal skills, ability to listen and understand what is being described by the end user as well as the ability to explain problem resolutions when necessary.
* Ability to travel
* Ability to work independently without direct supervision or guidance.
* Ability to occasionally work after hours and/or on-call support.

* The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.
* During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
