Our elite Epic team takes pride in having completed our initial Epic implementation fully half a year ahead of schedule. 

 

We are excited to announce that we are implementing Epic EHR for clinical and patient financial activity as well as consolidating ancillary core systems at White Plains Hospital (WPH), Nyack Hospital and Burke Rehabilitation. This project supports Montefiore Health System’s strategic initiative to more closely integrate members and provide more advanced and better-coordinated care to patients in the region.

 

As part of this expansion, our Epic Services team is seeking a Systems Engineer to build, support, and monitor systems. The System Engineer is responsible for daily administration duties of systems including but not limited to account maintenance, performance management, error resolution, back-ups, and restores. The Systems Engineer provides outstanding client service and contributes to the organization’s mission of utilizing information technology to improve patient care.

Responsibilities include:

* Participate in projects and engineer new systems.
* Expand, migrate, and upgrade systems.
* Build new systems from design specifications.
* Provide design input for creation of new systems


* Provide administration for servers.
* Install operating systems software and utilities on servers.
* Monitor system logs and error logs.
* Upkeep core and subsystems, including implementing patches, updates and major releases.
* Propose and implement system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of the system.


* Monitor performance of critical servers and applications. Manage the load configuration and make recommendations for purchase or upgrade of hardware as well as the tuning of software. 
* Responsible for capacity planning and determining the addition of new servers and provisioning of additional storage as needed.
* Write code/scripts in administrative languages for maintenance, automation, issue resolution, and alerts.
* Provide support for installation of new applications.
* Coordinate with other teams on the maintenance and integrity of system interfaces.
* Create and maintain system documentation for specifications, designs, procedures, and logs.  Document all processes, system changes/fixes, and issues.
* Provide support, 24x7, for system related issues. Provide resolutions to elevated issues and resolve them or elevate them further.
* Build and support directory services, desktop/mobile email, and/or network operating systems in an internet protocol environment.
* Administer Databases.
* Perform database tuning
* Maintain, support, and test the database for optimal functioning.
* Maintain current information with file and data changes. Manage data backups.


* Responsible for the administration and support duties of the applications software running on the servers.
* Implement and upgrade software.
* Troubleshoot application issues.
* Support data Interface software and hardware.


* Build and maintain system interfaces.
* Build and implement high availability solutions.

 

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

* Strong knowledge building VMware ESXi hosts, deploying and configuring virtual machines
* Knowledge VM replication SRM across geographical locations
* Strong Knowledge of Cisco UCS blade Servers
* Strong knowledge of Windows Server Operating System
* Experience with system automation and orchestration
* Creating and documenting standard operating procedures
* System implementation, troubleshooting, testing, and support experience.
* Full life cycle of implementation with go-live support.
* Experience building, integrating, and upgrading new systems in an enterprise IT environment.
* Strong desktop skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
* Programming or other technical skills beneficial.
* Knowledge of EPIC EHR beneficial
* Experience dealing with end users.
* Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
* Strong communication, interpersonal and rapport-building skills.
* User and vendor interaction.
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
* VMWare certification preferred
* Microsoft Certification preferred
