Job Description

Description:Performs Systems Engineering functions for FBM Trident Program Field Engineering specifically supporting Trident Navigation Fleet Sustainment, SSBN-R and SSI INC4 / INC8 Navigation integration activities. This assignment will be in Mitchel Field, NY supporting the sustainment of the deployed Navigation systems and the development of the next generation Navigation Subsystem. Critical skills to include: knowledge of Trident Navigation System Design, equipment integration, Q/A certification qualifications, system level testing and verification to liaison with the various agencies. Additional SSBN Trident program daily tasks include: FEIMS input, TFRs, database management, TDENT/Playbook/ FEM coordination and logistics support of the D5 Backfit and SSI Navigation systems. Travel, both domestic and international, to forward sites, shipyards and the USNS Waters is required. Support SSBN and USNS Waters at-sea testing. Support SSBNs at forward sites and in shipyards. Travel to various Lockheed, Government and SSP locations, forward sites and shipyards supporting SSBN Navigation Subsystem activities is required.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with some electronic equipment integration and test experience. Familiar with US/UK export control, Shipboard Coordination Interface Drawings, all Technical Documentation and system level drawings, SWSNET, and the development of integrated electronic documentation and Shipyard Integrated Test Procedures. Good communications and reporting skills in order to liaison with the various Field Engineering Site leads, Ship Design Agents, LM Engineering and LM Program Management.

Desired Skills:

Skills using Microsoft Office; strong emphasis on technical writing and strong communications skills for user and customer interface; travel domestically and internationally to support SSBN Navigation Subsystem site activities is required; ability to work Shipboard / Shipyards and remote SSBN Refit and ERO locations required.
