Job Description

Responsibilities

* Support sales team in selling Insight Integrated Systems products and services by going out on sales calls
* Provide a written call summary with action items and next steps to sales rep and engineering team that result from sales calls
* Take a leadership role in putting together the technology solution that meets the customer requirements; coordinate the input of other engineers to complete the final solution
* Document the proposed solution by creating a visio diagram that can be attached to our CRM application (SFDC). This will include details as low level as cabling so that other personnel can be deployed for post sales implementation
* Determine the final line item configuration of the hardware and software needed to create the technical solution
* Write proposals and statements of work to bid on customer projects
* Develop and manage project plans for solution implementations
* Develop territory and account plans and communicate those plans to management
* Learn how to implement and use products and services sold by Insight
* Maintain technical certifications in the Insight product set (e.g. NetApp, Compellent, Data Domain, Packeteer, Juniper, Sun StorageTek, Symantec, CommVault, etc) as required by management through computer based training and instructor led training (up to 18 days of ILT - an exception may be permitted for new hires or other business needs)
* Develop a product a specialty as agreed upon by management
* Install and implement hardware and software solutions
* Troubleshoot issues encountered by customers
* Maintain relationship with customer technology decision makers
* Partner with an SE at a manufacturers to keep abreast of new products and new opportunities
* Be responsive to customers, colleagues, partners and management

Qualifications / Education

* Storage Area Networking (Fibre Channel, iSCSI/Ethernet)
* Network Attached Storage Protocols (NFS, CIFS)
* LUN / Volume / Storage provisioning for networked storage
* Unix (Solaris, HPUX), Linux, and Windows 2003+
* Oracle, SQLServer sizing for storage
* Symantec NetBackup, Commvault Galaxy, and Legato Networker
* Microsoft Visio
* VMware VI3
* 5 years of experience in Information Technology
* Prior VAR experience preferred and/or
* Storage experience deploying NetApp, EMC, Compellent or other fibre channel or iscsi networked storage arrays
* Bachelor's Degree required - Engineering discipline is preferred
